The Mushara Outpost is an immersive bush getaway situated a mere 10 km from the Von Lindequist Gate of the world-famous Etosha National Park. The lodge’s main building has an old farmhouse atmosphere that is felt in the warm hospitality of its staff and seen in its high walls, corrugated iron roof, and large wrap-around veranda with plenty of shade. Guests stay in custom-made tent-like wood and canvas structures mounted on wooden decks 1.5 m above the ground. These tents are nestled on the banks of an ancient dry riverbed, which the Herero people call ‘omuramba’. Some of the many facilities include a lounge, fireplace for the winter months, swimming pool, and well-stocked bookshelves.
Each Double Tent has an open-plan bathroom, a large glass sliding door that leads into the tent, and floor-to-ceiling windows covered with fly-screens. Amenities include a minibar, coffee station, safe, mosquito net, hairdryer, sockets for charging storage batteries, and air-conditioning. Children must be at least 12 years old to stay here.
