Settled in amongst the indigenous, endemic thicket in the Eastern Cape’s Sibuya Game Reserve is Forest Camp. Decorated in shades of red and ochre with material made by local weavers, this camp boasts excellent game viewing and vistas of the Kariega River and its surroundings. Guests can enjoy game drives, bird watching, beach picnics and hearty buffet-style meals in the lapa or boma amongst serene surroundings. Built to have minimal disturbance on the indigenous forest where it sits, Forest Camp also runs on solar power and offers guests the chance to contribute to a rhino conservation levy. With no wifi, no televisions, and only intermittent mobile signal, guests are encouraged to embrace the nature around them instead.
Each of the secluded tented rooms features a king-size bed or 2 twin beds and a pull-out divan for children. The tents have excellent nature views from private decks and also include a fireplace and en-suite bathrooms.
