Steeped in history and conservation, Jock Safari Lodge is not only the first private concession granted within Kruger National Park but also the top environmental concession in this beloved park. Jock Safari Lodge is inspired by the classic tale ‘Jock of the Bushveld’ by Sir Percy FitzPatrick, a story of a man, his faithful companion — a Staffordshire bull terrier — and their African bushveld adventures. A prime location for Big 5 safari adventures, the lodge is set within a wildlife terrain of 6.000 ha where the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers meet in Kruger’s southern region. During their stay, guests can learn more about the lodge’s conservation purpose and sustainable design, examine the local fauna and flora, and go on game drives.
The Main Jock Lodge has 12 thatched suites, all sheltered by trees and reed walls. Each room can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults with the option of king-size or twin beds. Rooms lead to a private deck with a plunge pool, a sala, and an outdoor daybed, all of which have riverbed views.
Fitzpatrick's Villa offers an exclusive-use getaway for small groups and families with children of all ages. The villa has its own staff and a ranger with a private safari vehicle used for twice-daily game viewing. It comprises indoor and outdoor dining facilities, an enclosed 2-bedroom family unit and a separate private suite.
