Alte Kalköfen Lodge is set in a beautifully natural Namibian desert garden, surrounded by vast open spaces combined effortlessly with the rocky desert. Named after the old lime kiln nearby, the lodge was restored from an old farmhouse located between Keetmanshoop and Lüderitz. Guests can go for guided nature walks, hikes or drives, watch wild animals like springbok and gemsbok at the nearby waterhole, cool off in the swimming pool or relax on the verandah with a sundowner. The rooms with their floor-to-ceiling windows, are a refreshing respite from the day’s activities and include an extra outside shower for the adventurous.
The 8 en-suite double/twin rooms come complete with a ceiling fan and balcony overlooking the Gurib Riverbed. Free-standing bathtubs, indoor and outdoor showers, and light linens complete the experience of luxurious relaxation.
The family room consists of 2 twin rooms that are conveniently interlinked. Both are en-suite, with one room having a bath and the other a shower. Both have outside cold-water showers.
The self-catering double/twin room is set in a bungalow and has an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor cold-water shower, as well as a sitting room, kitchen and braai facilities.
The self-catering family room is set in a bungalow and is made up of 2 bedrooms, each with 2 beds each. The bathroom has both a bath and shower, as well as an outside cold-water shower. There is also a sitting room, kitchen and braai facilities.
The 3 campsites are conveniently located close to the main lodge, and each has access to a private ablution block with hot-water showers, toilets, and washing-up facilities. Campers can also make use of the Wi-Fi, restaurant and swimming pool
