This place is home to an ancient tribe of people named the Hadzabe, whose traditions and way of life have remained intact for hundreds of years. The lake boasts plenty of birdlife, including flamingoes, African spoonbills, pelicans, storks, pied avocet, Fischer’s lovebird and many more, along with a decent population of hippos. A tranquil spot perfect for nature enthusiasts, the lake offers stunning vistas of shorelines dotted with palms, as well as guided hiking opportunities, a rich cultural experience and excellent bird viewing.

Best time to go to
Lake Eyasi offers something unique year-round, with a landscape that transforms with the rains. The dry season, from June to October, makes the area easier to traverse and offers sunny and clear days. The main rainy season, which occurs from March to May, sees sporadic showers and cooler temperatures. The shorter rainy season, from November to December, transforms the landscape into a lush expanse and makes January and February fantastic times to visit and enjoy the views.
